Wow, blogging is hard! (says the THEY that is averaging approximately one blog post per year…)
Well we’ve been hard at work this past year with fantastic new clients and projects, some of which can be seen on our updated design and video pages. Having a new business can be tricky business at times – this has been a year full of endless goals, breakthroughs, triumphs, heartache, frustrations, and thousands of lessons learned.
One of our goals is to keep on top of design/photo/video trends and programs. In doing so, we’re retiring Final Cut Pro, the video editing program that Genius Editor Christy has spent the last 10+ years of her life on. We’re moving over to Adobe’s Premiere Pro, a program that should integrate seamlessly with the rest of our workflow, effectively pulling together all design and color elements that go into many of our video projects.
The lucky part of switching to Premiere is becoming more familiar with the program. THEY loves learning! And this THEY especially loves learning more efficient systems and keyboard shortcuts.
So in the name of fun, learning, and productivity, I made a short video for my parents using footage that was shot during our last holiday vacation. This video of firsts – my first time editing solo since college, my first time shooting video underwater, my first time using this version of Premiere – was shot with a GoPro borrowed from our lovely friend Dave. My bros BillyMack and TJMack are responsible for some of the footage, and L’Orchestra Cinematique is responsible for the music (what better music for a video for parents?).
And stay tuned, I may add another first to the list and blog TWICE this month!
